The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) organised the “Leading Towards Robotics Technologies” Innovation Competition to promote innovation and creativity in using robotics technologies to enhance public services. Winners with the best innovative proposals were selected by the final judging panel after they presented the progress and results of the proof-of-concept developments.
Congratulations to the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) for winning the Grand Award in the Competition with the proposal of “Robotics-enabled Public Services on Toilet Bowl Cleaning Application”. Welbot team are pleased to work with EMSD to explore the feasibility of utilising image analysis and Internet of Things (IoT) Sensing System technologies in helping toilet attendants to clean and sanitise toilet bowls in this award-winning proposal, which aims at reducing frontline cleaners’ workload and improving toilet environmental hygiene. Besides, “Robotic Steam Boiler Tube Cleaning & Inspection System”, another proposal we have also participated in, has won the Merit Award in the same competition.
Our team have experience and expert knowledge in the fields of IoT and LoRa, which can help achieve the ideal efficiency in projects like smart management, productivity enhancement, etc. for our customers, creating effective business models and unlimited opportunities. It is hoped that there will be more opportunities for Welbot and the local technology industry to collaborate with government bureaux or departments in promoting public service innovations and enhancing the quality of Smart Government services.
